Preparing for Your Flooring Installation

To ensure a smooth and efficient flooring installation process, please follow these instructions and prepare your space accordingly:

1. Clear the Area:

   • Unplug and Remove Electronics: Disconnect and remove all electronic devices, including lamps, computers, smart home devices, TVs, stereos, and any other electrical items from the installation area.
   • Furniture and Accessories: Completely clear and empty all furniture surfaces, bookcases, shelving, and media cabinets. Remove all small items, breakables, valuables, and antiques from the area where flooring will be installed.
   • Wall Hangings: Take down pictures, mirrors, drapes, wall hangings, and art from walls along the paths where furniture will be moved, and during flooring removal and installation.

2. Prepare Beds and Closets:

   • Beds: Remove sheets and covers from beds in the installation areas. Disassemble bed frames and clear out items from under the beds.
   • Closets: Clear closet floors and remove any low-hanging items up to 3 feet high off the floor.

3. Check for Special Instructions:

   • Utilities and Wiring: Review with our installer any special instructions regarding water and/or gas lines. Notify the installer of any wiring running under the carpet or existing flooring, or near baseboards.

4. Ensure Proper Environment:

   • Power, Lighting, and Ventilation: Make sure adequate power, lighting, ventilation, and heating are available 24 hours before, during, and after the installation process.

5. Safety Measures:

   • Children and Pets: Ensure that children and pets are kept away from the installation area during the entire process for their safety and to avoid any interruptions.

6. Additional Preparations:

   • Paths for Moving Furniture: Make sure paths are clear to facilitate the easy movement of furniture and installation materials.
